The fence, which is an important part of a tile saw, is horrible. It's hard to set into place and then once you have it set into place you can't easily move it again. It doesn't sit straight either. This piece definitely needs a re-design.
The blade guard does it's job in keeping water spray out of your face, but you can't see where you're cutting because it sits too low. Given the issue with the fence, you'd really need to draw a straight line on your material and use that as a better guide when cutting. However, with the guard so low you can't see if you're on the line or not. I ended up pulling the guide up a bit to see where I was going. The screw that holds the guard on doesn't allow for any adjustment. I'm sure that's for safety purposes, but it's hard to work with.
The saw does cut well, which is really the result of the blade and not the tool itself, but I can't recommend it based off of two important pieces mentioned above that just don't function properly in order to not have to struggle while using this tool.

I expect it will handle light to medium jobs. Everything about the design is portable. The whole unit is lightweight. Everything stores in the water reservoir, making storage easy as well.
The unit comes with a diamond blade, making it ready to use out of the box. With the exception of a screwdriver, all needed tools are included. The parallel fence bar is creatively stored on the bottom of the unit. The miter guide is attached with a thumb screw. Even the water plug is well designed to self drain so you don't overfill the reservoir.
Instructions could have been easier to follow in a few places. I didn't realize the metal bracket behind the blade is inserted from underneath. Also, the blade guard looks like it should be next to the blade in the instructions, but the marked slot goes over the metal bracket and the arrow points to the blade.
My one potential negative is the bevel table. You're limited to 45 degrees, which isn't bad. However, when a 12 x 12 tile was on it, the table was a bit wobbly. I wouldn't attempt to bevel cut a tile larger than the bevel table itself.

For me it works fine. I am though a Tool Maker by trade so I tend to be a little critical of tools for any purpose. This little Wen tile saw is definitely adequate for home use. It does the job albeit a little slow for my taste. I examined the blade under magnification and felt it had a very thin diamond population. I would have preferred to see at least twice the diamonds embedded in the wheel. Probably why it was slow cutting.
A few observations and hints;
You can easily bump the blade guard and as a result bend the blade. HMMMMM, do I remove the blade when done? For my specific rare use, yes, it is worth the time.
The drain plug could have been closer to the corner to empty better. See photo.
HINTS:
1) Wrap the power cord cross ways for all but the last wrap or you will have too much left over to easily capture in keeper without having it hang loose out the bottom.
2) There is no storage provisions for the blade wrenches so I used a zipper lock sandwich bag and captured it under the flip up table, see photo. You can still loose them during use though.
SSSSoooo, take your time and cut away my friend.

It is conveniently portable and everything you need is kept all within the kit. It is light weight and durable. I love the fact that the water bay is internal and not external like many other tile saws. It also has a drain plug so that you can empty the reservoir of excess water. You can use the saw to cut different angles & lengths. It is all conveniently marked to help guide you with the proper measurement. The rubber feet also help keep the saw in place. I've used others and they do like to move on you. It comes with a blade and I tested it and it did a flawless job. For the "DIY'ers" this is definitely the way to go without breaking the bank but getting the quality and the portability that you need. Give it a shot, you cant go wrong with it!

I have bench top tools that I have put through their paces and they are still going strong. I realize that many of the bench top type tools from various manufacturers appear to be made by the same manufacturing plant in China. Just the color scheme changes. But, WEN consistently has a better price on a similar item than the competition. There are other tile cutters out there similar to this one that are more expensive. So, from that perspective WEN once again has a better price. To be fair this product might work for someone who is on a very limited budget and they just want something to get a quick job done. If you are looking to do any kind of a job that will require heavy use of a tile cutter, then either rent one or wait until you can buy one that is more expensive with superior features.
Here are my pet beefs: The fence is almost impossible to put on. When I was able to get it on, it would not easily slide back and forth. The fence is important as each time the size of the cut is changed, then the fence has to be moved. And it has to be lined up with the blade. With this product that is an impossibility. The video shows me trying to move the fence and how difficult it is.The tile that I was able to cut, came out crooked, which the video does not mention, even though I tried to line it up with the fence. The next thing is that the blade guard is mandatory. When I say mandatory what I mean is that if you remove it, or lift it, then the blade throws the water directly into you face. Remember, the water is only clean with the first cut. After that you have yucky tile dust water thrown all over you. If you put the blade guard down, that does not happen. The truth is, when cutting tile or even using a table saw the blade guards are frequently removed in order to watch the blade and see how the cut is going. I know, safety issues, but I am just telling you how the tools are normally used. This tool cannot be used with the blade guard up unless you have on a scuba mask. And finally, the cut. It was very hard pushing the tile through to make the cut. And much too slow in my opinion. I timed the cut on the small piece of tile in the video. It took 30 seconds. Way too long. Look at the attached video and draw your own conclusion. As much as I like WEN products, I call this one a fail. I don't like to rate products this low. I realize low ratings can have consequences. I just don't see this as a workable product. As much as I tried, and I did, it just never worked right.
