- Drainage holes trap dust, dirt, liquids and grease beneath the surface of the mat to prevent slips; the mat ensures safe footing and maximizes worker productivity while also reducing the risk of injury
- Light weight allows for removal and cleaning by almost anyone (18 lbs. per mat); this makes the dura-chef interlock less of a liability concern
- Mat can be cleaned with most common household or commercial cleaners; strong, highly caustic cleaning solutions (e.g. bleach) are not recommended

It provides a comfortable stable platform, and there's no concern regarding the weather elements.
