You need a Hammer drill or someone who has one...
You need a Hammer drill or someone who has one if you are installing this directly into concrete, but it looks great as a transition piece, so sometimes it sounds like it's cracking when the rough edges rub against the metal fixture holding it in (it is not actually cracking).

For most folks, it should be ok. But, if you are elderly like me, at 82, the slightest increase between floors is a trip hazard and is subject to some serious reflection. Any fall at 82 can become an instant disaster. I don't think that this product could be made any slimmer and still hold-up. BUT, IF YOU HAVE ANY ELDERLY FOLKS OVER, PLEASE BE CAREFUL TO WARN THEM ABOUT EVEN THIS SMALL OBSTACLE.
