These Tommyco T-Foam Hard Terrain Kneepads are a clever, simple design. The surface is hard enough to stand up to hard surfaces. The inner foam is soft and does a good job of protecting your knees and keeping them comfortable. The single, elastic strap uses velcro fasteners to secure the kneepads in place. I wore the kneepads while picking tomatoes in the greenhouse and while weeding the outdoor garden. I had them on for over an hour. The hard surface of the greenhouse’s concrete paver floor did not bother me in the slightest. The outdoor garden was no bother either and the dirt and debris easily cleaned from the kneepads. I was comfortable the entire time and the strap did not irritate the back of my knee as other kneepad styles have done. Also, the kneepads stayed in place and did not migrate up or down on my leg as I worked, something that has been a common problem with other kneepads I’ve used in the past. It was also a bit of surprise since the kneepads each have only one strap. I know these kneepads are 2 in 1 but I don’t see me ever removing the outer cover. There’s a lot of kneepad here for the money. I’m happy and plan on getting a lot of use out of these.

I needed another set of knee pads so I ordered the Tommyco T-Foam hard Terrain Kneepads. I have been using them on a tiling project for the past couple of days and here are my thoughts. This is an adequate product as knee pads go. They have an easily removable sturdy hard plastic molded outer layer that definitely protects the knees from hard, uneven, rocky or bumpy surfaces that would make working in a kneeling position unbearable. The closed cell soft foam liner is almost 3/4" thick, very cushiony and can be used without the hard plastic outer layer. For me they do the job but I prefer a larger more wrap around style that does not need to be adjusted frequently. The Hard Terrain Kneepads have a single 1 3/8" wide elastic strap that fasten below the knee to hold them in place. The straps do the job but barely so - I find myself constantly repositioning over my knees. For the $11 - $12 price point I find them better than other mid-range kneepads I have used but I prefer the pricier two strap models that have more surface area and are much more user friendly for all day jobs. That being said these are great for occasional use at home or in a pinch when you don't want to lay out double or triple the price for a high end set.

Over the last 50 years I have had the opportunity to use many brands of kneepads. I find these T-foam hard terrain kneepads from "TOMMYCO" to be the best and most comfortable ones I have used to date. I do a lot of outdoor work where I have to move around on my knees over surfaces such as bricks, cement, concrete, and just hard dirt. These pads do an excellent job of protecting my knees and thus extending the amount of time I can be down on my knees before having to stand up. The pads are also safe for indoor use. If you have a delicate surface the hard outer pad covering may be removed exposing just the foam portion of the pad. The Velcro strapping allows for quick attachment and release. See attached photos. Well done TOMMYCO!

My knees aren't what they used to be so knee pads are a must for me. I have several types for different locations but didn't want to destroy my soft surface ones kneeling in gravel. I had a piece of equipment break down at work and of course it was in the gravel yard. I used to move a pad around with me but that gets to be a pain after a while. I decided hard knee pads were worth a try and I was right. I was up and down in the gravel for over two hours and I didn't feel a thing. The hard cap on the outside has a bunch of scratches but nothing deep and they still felt comfortable at the end of the job. These just got space in my truck tool box.

I was anxious to get these knee pads because my wife does a lot of gardening. I tried them out myself prior to presenting them to her. The hard outer shell definitely protects the knees, but (and here is the reason I gave them a lower rating) the shell has a rounded ridge around it that included the area below my knee. It became very painful after a short time of kneeling. I tried adjusting the position but it still ended up right where I would kneel. On a positive note, there is a single Velcro strap which makes it easy to put on.

Great product, the foam is very absorbent , it is easy to remove and reattach the hard plates needed for rough surfaces. I have another pair of 2 in 1 knee pads from another brand, and this pair was easier to remove and replace the plates. I tested out the knee pads around the yard while doing some yard. I tried both the foam and plates attached to the foam for work on concrete and the pads held up just fine. To me , they felt comfortable also. I did not feel them digging in while I was walking or bending down, which is good

These inexpensive, smaller, light weight knee pads are for the occasional DIY project and not for the heavy duty use of a professional. The 5/8 inch thick foam pad, which is sufficient, and smooth plastic shell are held together and around your leg with an elastic band which for me could be a little longer, (I'm a big man). Velcro clasps secure the band. I wore these for approximately 3 hours on a small indoor home project with no problem, but I would want larger pads if I used them all day or outdoors.

Needed a pair of knee pads to replace my older worn out pair. Went with the Tommyco T-Foam Hard Terrain Kneepads after seeing the 2 in 1 feature. Hard plastic type cap for hard rugged surfaces and a soft T-Foam under the easily removable hard cap. Although I'd mostly use the hard cap, this is a nice feature. Knee pads secure to the leg with a single velcro strap comfortably and pad doesn't impede movement while fully protecting the knee. I highly recommend this product.
