I don't have a lot of experience with grout, so I thought it was just me. But several other reviews confirm, this product is very hard to work with! My husband and I used it on a new backsplash with 1/8" lines in between. The texture was dry and the sand seemed coarse for 1/8". It was very hard to get grout into cracks. It took a lot of muscle! The grout dried fast and no matter how many times we wiped, we couldn't get rid of the residue on the tiles. This glue-like residue kept dripping down the tile. When the drips dried, I had to scrape them off with my fingernail. After awhile I just gave up. Luckily, our grout color matches the tile exactly, so what is left of the residue is not noticeable. Our backsplash looks great but I think the process was way harder than it should have been! We will try something different next time!

Not worth it...awful experience
I had a small backsplash (new install) that I needed to grout and thought I would save a little time and a few bucks by going with the premixed grout. This was a horrible mistake. First, the grout is sanded, even though there is absolutely no mention of it being sanded, which should mean it is not sanded!!! Second, it goes on with nearly the consistency of water. I stirred it up but it didn't really help. Before I could spread it nearly all the grout had fallen off my float. As soft and runny as it is, you can't even really pick it up off of a flat surface. 80% of the grout ended up in clumps on my countertop. Third, it seems to dry in a couple of minutes. Five minutes after application, I was scrubbing hard with a wet sponge trying to remove the excess. Seriously, this grout induces a lot of swearing. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews before I purchased, and a few others complained it was cracked within a week. Pay the few extra bucks and buy legitimate grout and mix it yourself. It's worth the hassle.

Ruined our kitchen mosaic backsplash job. My wife & I used this with mosaic tiles made of glass and stone, both of which the product says it works on. It was ridiculously difficult to remove from the stone on the first pass...as we went. However, after we let the grout set up for the recommended 4 hours, the haze was impossible to remove from the stone sections of the mosaic and extremely difficult to remove from the glass tiles. We had to spend about an hour and a half using our fingernails to scrub the remnants of haze off of each tiny piece of glass in the mosaic. This is on only 6 square feet of backsplash. I've de-hazed full rooms in less time. We are DIYers, but we are certainly not inexperienced when it comes to tile & grout. We tiled the whole floor in our last house...2000+ square feet, plus a glass mosaic bathroom wall of approximately 100 square feet, as well as groutable vinyl flooring. We have never had this bad an experience with a grouting product. Wish we would have read the other reviews before purchasing.

Wouldn't recommend
I had just a small area to grout so instead of buying a bag I would probably never use up, I went with this. It didn't float well, blobs fell off the float and it just made a big mess. I watched a number of videos on how to grout and it definitely did not look like it should have been as hard as it was. I spent an hour washing each tile individually to get all the grout off. I will say the final product looks great so because of cost and the way it looks, three stars. Save yourself the frustration and buy a bag mix.

Avoid the lure of no mixing traditional grout!!! It's NOT worth it.
The grout was slightly stiffer than traditional grout but workable, however the clean up is a nightmare! I grouted a 2x2 area and went back and wiped off the surface. A little film was left ...no biggie. Figured I'd get it prior to cleaning the next 2x2 section. Grouted 2x2 more and went back to clean off the surface of the 1st section. The heavy haze had stuck fast and took extensive rubbing to remove. A HUGE waste of time compared to traditional grout! By then the 2nd section was starting to stick like crazy and it was equally difficult to remove. Feeling committed to complete the job with the material on hand I plowed ahead and completed the bath in about 5x the normal amount of time and exhausted from all the extra work required. Completely frustrating and annoying product. It better last for eternity to be worth this.
As others have said it is sanded but does NOT clearly say that on the label. Beware!

I'm shocked Home Depot sells this in store given the negative reviews. I trusted that when I purchased this product in store that it would be a quality product. However it's absolute garbage. From the beginning it was impossible to spread with a brand new float. It stuck immediately to our granite tile and was very hard to wipe off. When we were able to finally get it off the tile, there were massive haze deposits all over the tiles. And this is after immediately washing off the grout. I've spent the better part of a day scrubbing these tiles with a scrubber attached to my hand sander, which has mostly removed the haze, but not all of it. Such a disappointment. When I went into the store to talk to an associate about it, he was a bit condescending and suggested that I should have pre-treated the tile with grout block and it should have worked. Whatever--this is a garbage product that should be immediately pulled from the shelves.

I've been working on repairing my mother's house and needed to put grout down in some areas where the old grout broke apart. This grout match perfectly and I've been very happy with the results. In addition the Home Depot employee that pointed me to this item was extremely helpful and provided some important tips. I would recommend this item.

Was a super quick solution for us to keep our contractor moving forward and not have to be out in the rain mixing grout. It kept the job going instead of him having to come back another day or take longer to do the job. Only negative is the colors offered are slim pickings so the grout doesn't match the existing exactly.
