These are not meant to be nailed or screwed, but...
These are not meant to be nailed or screwed, but there was no way I was going to glue these to a transition between Pergo and Vinyl. So I carefully drilled a small starter hole for my finishing nail, and used the smallest finishing nail I could. I was fine until I used a nail set to counter sink the nail, and I wound up with a small split. For the price, I couldn't complain, and I'm the only one who will see the minor imperfection, but I just want to warn those who think it'll work like normal harder woods to BE CAREFUL.

Really sad these dont seem to exist in the Homedepot...Really sad these dont seem to exist in the Homedepot store inventory, they would be great to pick up if in stock. I used it to bridge tile to hardwood, rather than carpeting. Did a great job.

Beautiful! Love the result!I bought this for a DIY project. A dog we were dog-sitting for didn't like being closed behind the walk-through doggie gate in the laundry room at night and chewed up some of the carpet. (Luckily, he could only reach about 2 inches of it.) We pulled up the ugly silver metal transition strip and cleaned the tile underneath. Then I cut the carpet to make it more even all the way across. I needed at least a two inch transition strip to cover the both the edge of the carpet and the nail holes in the floor from the old transition strip. This one is 2-1/8th inch wide. My husband cut the board to fit the width of the door frame. Since the carpet would not quite reach all the way across the carpet tack strip, I nailed down any tacks that were exposed and used liquid nails to attach the carpet permanently to the edge of the tack strip (The carpet barely reached it but I also put liquid nails on the concrete for additional strength.) Then I attached this bamboo carpet reducer transition strip to the tile side of the door jamb with liquid nails. I placed two 25-pound dumbbell weights on it while it dried. When it dried, I tested it for strength and caulked the end edges and the long edge along the tile. It looks great. You cannot tell that it was ever damaged.
