1 qt. Oil-Spot Primer - Product information
The Latex-ite 1 qt. Oil-Spot Primer is an acrylic bonder that's ideal for preparing your driveway for a new layer of sealant. It seals over stubborn, hard-to-clean oil spots to prevent them from bleeding through to the newly resurfaced driveway. Using this primer helps ensure a strong bond between the driveway and the sealer and creates a clean, professional finish. (Note: If product is not available to order in your area that is due to nighttime temperatures. Product may not cure and/or track in late fall and early spring applications).
- Use it to seal over stubborn oil stains before resurfacing driveways
- Covers up to 25 sq. ft.
- Dries in approximately 15 minutes
- Helps ensure a strong bond between driveway and sealer

Dries great
Goes on like milky white and dries hard and clear. In the sun it dries very quickly. Good crack penentration. A good solution to oil spots. Since the oil never really comes out of the spots no matter how much soap or degreaser you use this is a good solution to use before sealing your driveway. One bottle has a tremendous amount of coverage

I have resurfaced my driveway in the past only to...I have resurfaced my driveway in the past only to have the oil spots bleed through no matter how many coats I applied. I used 2 coats of the primer before resurfacing and no more oil stains!

Oil spot primer worksIf your planning on recoating your driveway or having a professional do it, I would reccomend this product. No driveway is oil spot free, but if you scrub the spots with some simple Green or Dawn and rinse throughly, you will still never eliminate old oil spots. 1-2 qts of this stuff will be enough to cover basic oil spots / stains on most driveways. Simply pour a little on the spot, use a cheap disposable brush to spread out and paint on the primer to cover the spots. Follow directions and your driveway sealer will stick much better/ last much longer on those tough to cover spots. Ask your driveway professional if they plan on powerwashing the driveway.....if they do be sure to use this after the driveway dries ....usually a day before they come back to seal.

oil spot primerthis product worked somewhat efficiently BUT I shook as directed for several minutes and when I poured their was a good 3-4 inches of the product on the bottom that would not come out. I feel that the product would have worked better but the bottom residual was probably needed.

Average -Needs better instructionsHere are some helpful hints:
Works as specified for the first coat. We applied the primer and then the sealer. Everything worked well. We applied a
second coat of the sealer and it peeled off all over the original oil stain!
We are thinking maybe we need a second coat of the primer for the second coat too?
Will try and see if this will fix the problem
