This particular transition strip works great for ending the tile itself. In other words having something to grout to and end the tile and not have a huge grout line as well as keeping straight in a long run. The down side to the strip is that it is typically the same height or just smaller than the tile and does not allow for a smooth or flat slow decent for even flat with floor. If transitioning to carpet They are great as long as the carpet is tucked to the strip on a roll fashion. You may have other ideas but this is my opinion from experience
