The picture shows that it is to be all wood. But when I received it, it was snapped in two in shipping and the "hardwood" was not wood but laminate over cardboard.

ships poorlyBecause this wasn't carried in stores, I ordered this online and had it shipped to store to save money, even though I knew it would take some time. When it finally arrived it was in a long box and appeared to be packed is such a manner as to protect the item. However, when I got it home, the piece was broken into two pieces... so much for the long box. Fortunately, I did not end up using it, the veneer wasn't applied particularly well along the entire length the substrate was poorly filled in several spots. I only paid five bucks for it so I didn't try to return it, I'd spend more in gas & time bringing it back to the store. Lesson learned.

Read the DescriptionDescription clearly states that it's an HDF moulding. Use a fine-toothed saw in a miter box or a good 5" circular saw with a blade designed for laminate and you won't get ragged edges. If you mess up, you can always fill with some Pergo putty.

not real woodDescription does not indicate that moulding is manmade material with the thinest of veneers. Difficult to cut without ragging the veneer.

I'm sure you knew this was cardboard...Prepare yourself for pressed/layered cardboard with a coating that can easily be peeled off when removing plastic sheeting on individual trim pieces. Get a fine toothed saw blade that will not rip off the layers. They get really ugly really easily especially at the joints and CLEARLY, I just didn't read the product description well enough. The finished products looks good.
