Used this item as a transition from hardwood to marble. Offset dimensions worked perfectly for my application. Molding is natural maple, no stain, clear finish. The piece I received had a small section of considerable grain tear-out which would have been unsightly in a very wide doorway. Fortunately, I needed two pieces (42" and 46") and the was able to cut out the defective section. Although pricey, I gave this item 5 stars because of its natural beauty, low profile and (hard-to-find) 3/8" offset.
