If you have hardwood floors in your office - you need this! It's the perfect size for my office floor! Although the description indicates that this is a rectangular floor mat, it isn't. The attached picture shows that the square edges have been cut off and the four corners have a rounded edge. I should have gotten something like this years ago because the area on the floor under my chair is showing wear now.
This mat should protect your floor and give you ease of movement in your desk chair! It's clear, so the good looks of your hardwood come right through and it's large enough to provide a good sized area of protection for your office. My desk chair has a 5 star wheel base and this mat was designed for chairs like this. If you price it at some of the office supply places, you'll be pleased with what you see. It came in a large flat box, so there was no problem putting it down and trying to eliminate curling edges. It's a winner and I wish I had one when we had the hardwood floor installed!

We returned this mat as we could not abide the smell, even after more than a week of airing out. ...We returned this mat as we could not abide the smell, even after more than a week of airing out. We left it both outside and in the garage. We also bought the same brand mat of a different size from a another supplier and it exhibits the same smell. Unfortunate because it was the perfect size.
