Perfect match to the flooring. I needed it for two openings and I still had a little bit extra. Only draw back is you cannot use a box knife to cut the material. I recommend a thin trim/hand saw.

The edge tile was thjnner thank I thought it was. Easy, but tricky to install. You have to have the joint straight for it to work. The appearance seems to be a bit thin and easy to break. We had to redo the joint section on the floor to make sure it was lined up straight. The appearance is fine, but I do worry about the quality of the product.

An interesting project!First and foremost, if you watch the guy on the internet installing this product, it looks really easy to do . . . and it is, sort of . . . like if your work area was perfectly square. If it is not, prepare your self.
For tools your need a heavy duty utility knife, the kind with the replaceable, break off blades. The blade edges dull VERY quickly when cutting this product. I found that the blade ends could withstand about ten (10) cuts and then they needed changing.
You also need some sort of long straight edge (at least 36") to allow you to make cuts along the length of the product. I used a 48" long aluminum straight edge guide from the Depot's hardware dept. You also should have a good, adjustable square for cross cutting and cutouts in the planks.
Another good tool is something like a Black & Decker "WORK MATE" stand which will allow you to make cuts in the planks, while you are vertical. It's MUCH easier on the low back.
Finally, I would suggest a good, rubber mallet. It makes the joints at lot easier to finalize.
Lastly get GOOD kneepads while you are at the Depot. Ask what kind a pro would use. Get them! If you ignore this advice, have lots of pain medication handy!
Installers recommend going over the floor joints with one hundred (100) pound floor roller when the job is complete. Of course, you probably don't have one, so that means another Depot trip to rent that puppy . . . then take it back. It'll cost about twenty bucks ($20) for the day.
We chose another root. We hammered every section tight with the rubber mallet. Seems to have worked OK.
I'll close with one hint. Lay this flooring as a twosome . . . one person cuts, the other lays the floor, does measuring etc. It is faster than getting up and down every couple of minutes.
Don't get frustrated. You can do it. Just take your time.

I have bought three pieces of the Alpine Elm and only one piece matched well with the flooring. I know there can be some variation but this piece was way off in color. Wish there was more consistency in color.
