Water did not bead up before sealing. Beaded up nicely when the job was done. Called the company consumer line for instructions to prepare the surface. They were very helpful. They recommended the Daily Cleaner. Too soon to tell how long the treatment is going to last. Time will tell.

I was intimidated by trying to do this my self so put it off for awhile. This product is easy to use and does a great job. I don't know why it took
me so long. There is not bad smell and it goes on and wipes off easily. I did invest in some lint free rags and they did a good job.

This product was easy to use. As long as you follow directions your granite countertops will look like new. Mine did. They feel glossy and smooth like they were first installed.

Check Granite Before Sealing
I learned that dark granites tend to be very dense and should not be sealed as they do not absorb water, stains or sealer. Instead the sealer dries on top of the granite and leaves white streaks or a white film which is very unattractive on the dark granite. This link explains testing to see if granite should be sealed: http://www.countertopspecialty.com/sealing-granite-countertops.html
There is a video from Stone Care Granite Sealer show how to use the sealer: http://stonecare.com/Caring-for-Stone/Sealing
In the video the demonstrator lightly sprays the countertop, waits five minutes, lightly sprays again, waits thirty minutes and wipes. Unfortunately I followed his directions and the sealer dried on top of the granite because it is too dense to absorb sealer and the humidity was low so thirty minutes was too long.
Sealer was applied to my granite island when it was installed twenty years ago and some streaks were left on two sides along the cooktop. I thought the countertop was damaged when the cooktop was installed but now I know it is sealer that was allowed to dry on the surface. I found that sealer dried on the surface can be removed with steel wool, mineral spirits, acetone or Stone Care's R154 Stripper Stain Remover followed by R 155 Intensive Cleanser depending on how hard it has cured.
Whatever you do. do not let the sealer dry on the surface. If humidity is low, thirty minutes may be too long to wait to wipe the granite dry.

This sealer does the job
I ran out of sealer for the granite in the kitchen and like to keep up on the counter tops every 6-8 months. I picked up this product to try it out. The application process was in line with most styles for time and application. One thing I didn't like was that after the application, the countertops had a waxy feeling to them. I dropped water on different sections of the counter after 24hrs and the water beaded up in puddles with out any soaking into the countertops, so I was extremely happy with how well the product worked. Also, the waxy feeling did go away after about 3 days, so overall the product is well worth the purchase.
