I really like the 28 thousandths thick stainless steel. It's a sharp tool where it's supposed to be. when getting a big flat piece of metal it's easy for a company to not clean up the edges of the steel after it's shaped, that's not the case here. The edges are very straight and clean. The rubber on the handle is nice to hold onto and feels good in the hand. I didn't feel anything that would cause rubbing or sore spots after long use. my only real complaint is that the handles get a little difficult to hold onto if your hands are wet. Other than that, I love this trowel and would definitely recommend it. This is the type of tool that you buy once and use for the rest of your life.

homedepot.com why are these not in stores..I started out with Only one order of these Ridgid XLT Series trowels and quickly grew into the full line. I nabbed up every Ridgid tile tool Ridgid had to offer. These are that great. If your a tile guy, you need these. It's better then any other brand homedepot has to offer in store.

I got this in the mail and it was bent. I needed it right away, so I went ahead and used it anyw...I got this in the mail and it was bent. I needed it right away, so I went ahead and used it anyway. The bent corner didn't seem to hinder the performance of the tool, just looked bad. This is a very well made tool and it's very light and comfortable to use. The rubber handle is a huge upgrade from a wooden handled trowel because it doesn't splinter or crack. So far I've only used this to spread modified thinset mortar to lay stone in my shower floor and it was great. The placement of the handle makes it well balanced whether you're using the notched end or the flat end. The stainless cleans up very nicely and doesn't get little rust spots on it like a cheap trowel does.

It's built very well, but extremely light in the hands. I will say that it really does not even feel like you are holding this trowel, so it makes grought install very easy.
I really like the ground edge as it helps to prevent leaving rough areas wen working.
The polly handle is very comfortable, and forms well to the contour of your hand. I also love the raised Ridgid logo. You will be amazed when you try this for the first time!

NiceThis is a good feeling tool and both the design and materials make it comfortable and strong its probably the best value on the shelf I've used it about a week now and it rinses clean every time, I dont know what the finish is but it acts like Teflon and so far it is holding up well, also the material flows through the 1/4" V-notches very well.

The handle is made out of rubber and is very comfortable to use. The tool feels very substantial in your hand. The golden finish coating over the stainless steel material really makes a difference. The 1/4" v-shaped notch is perfect for smaller tile sizes. This tool is a good value.
