Description
1/4 in. Taper-Shaped Structured Tooth Tungsten Carbide Cutter for Fiberglass, Wood, Plastic and Ceramic Tile - Product information
A high-speed cutter with teeth made of tungsten carbide, the hardest material next to diamonds. Fast-cutting, sharp teeth for greater material removal. Use on fiberglass, wood, plastic, epoxy, rubber, laminates, particleboard and ceramic tile.
- For best results, insert the accessory bit all the way into the tool and then back it out slightly before tightening down this provides plenty of shank for the collet or chuck to hold onto the bit
- Secure objects to a stable surface while working
- Use the sides of the cutter (rather than the tip) for effective cutting the tip cuts poorly and can break under pressure
- Use higher speeds for hard woods, slower speeds for metals and very slow speeds for plastics (to avoid melting at the point of contact)
- If chattering occurs, increase speed

It worked, but...
I had some particle board that needed to be cut. I purchased this bit because it specifically said it was made for particle board and similar materials. I began using it and it did cut the particle board, but the tip of the bit burned and it looks as though the teeth are ground down so I don't think it'll be of much use on another project. It did what it was supposed to, but I expect that when I buy a tool it's not going to "disposable" and only suitable for one use.

Fantastic for Roughing SurfacesWe use these bits heavily in the aerospace industry on composites, rubber, and just about anything else to rough out material to shape or to rough up a bonding surface up to achieve better adhesion. One aspect in its design that makes this bit better than most, is its ability to to cut carbon fiber composites to shape in corners or radii without bit grab, which is a massive savings in product damage that was frequent before we began using this bit.
