Hard work but well worth it! Works Great!
I did a lot of online research as to what was wrong with my wood floors. The thing that kept standing out was the use of Orange Glow wood floor cleaners. I used it for years. Over time the dirty wax build up was unbelievable. The high traffic areas were the worst, but we were determined. We ended up putting the Trewax in a squirt bottle straight. We left it on approx. 5 minutes, and then used a 2 inch putty knife and scraped it off. It did not touch or hurt the finish on the floor. I could not believe the amount of black gunk that was coming off the floor. I used paper towels to pick up the gunk and then cleaned with towels and warm water. We had to repeat all that, but after the 2nd application it all came off. The floor looks 1000 times better. So worth the hard work. We are 61 and 58. If we can do it most people can.

I was very skeptical about using this as I started out by using the straight ammonia and I gu...I was very skeptical about using this as I started out by using the straight ammonia and I guess I am lucky to be alive from all the harsh fumes. then I went on line saw this product and thought what the heck lets try it. I can't say it was awesome to use because this is the most horrible job to take on BUT it worked perfect!!!. after doing like 1/3 of the floor I got it down to a science and it went pretty quick from there on. the best advice I have is do a small area at a time not a large one because you will really have a mess. if you do a small patch let it sit comes right off rinse it right away and go on to the next little square. I don't think I will ever ever put any kind of wax on my floor again. thanks for having this product and I would give it 10 stars. make sure you have a large bucket of clean water and lots of rags. I tried using the mop but that just was not for me. more work to keep rinsing the mop out use a rag dip it in the water to rinse off the gook and keep going.

Product worked as stated. Had floors with 8 years of build up wax, diluted product as directed, ...Product worked as stated. Had floors with 8 years of build up wax, diluted product as directed, applied to floor allowed product to work, brushed a bit to assist with break down of wax, then mopped away, until water was clear..

It isn’t often a product does what it claims. Trewax...It isn’t often a product does what it claims. Trewax wax remover is better than advertised. Lots of elbow grease but great results. Now I don’t have to have the floor refinished.

Outstanding results! Saved thousands on refinishing!This was my last attempt at saving from a costly, messy and inconvenient professional floor refinishing. Beyond glad I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot!
I took the advice of some of the reviewers and mixed the product in a spray bottle 50/50 with water. Sprayed an approximately 3X3 area, allowed the product to sit for a few minutes and with a large putty knife, scraped off layers and layers or old wax leaving behind the original finish. It took several days to completely strip my 2500 sq.ft. condo. Time consuming; yes, but remarkable and immediate results made it more than worth it.
It's not at all difficult and I'm not sure where other reviewers are coming from when they say it was difficult. If you aren't allergic to work; you'll have no problem. Some smell but certainly not overpowering.
I'd recommend this product to everyone who has wax buildup on their hardwood flooring!

TreWax for floorsMy hardwood floors were in very bad shape with years of wax build up Estimates to refinish them was in the thousands I didn't know what to. I started to surf the internet and came upon TreWax Wax remover. I had nothing to loose so I ordered the wax remover, floor cleaner and new wax sealer. WOW!!!! The old wax started to come off like magic. For around $100 I have all new hardwood floors. My friends are amazed Thank you TreWax and Home depot for carrying this product

Very effective. Removed multiple layers of Quick Shine and Mop & Glow from unsealed slate.This is the only product I've found that will lift Quick Shine from unsealed slate. No damage to the slate. The odor is offensive, but wear a mask and goggles, rubber gloves, long sleeves and pants. Open the windows. Pour on. Wait 10-20 minutes. Scrub with a nylon brush, finish with scrub pad (even fine steel wool pad) Highly recommend vacuuming up with a wet/dry shop vac as rinsing is way too difficult with rags/mops. Must rinse 3 times. This stuff really works.
