Works great in our basement floor just make sure your floor is level, and has no major pockets or dips. With a rubber mallet, razor blade, tape measure and a square makes for easy installation. No need for glue or padding. If you tap your foot on it, it kinda sounds like vinyl, but solid as long as your floors are flat! Don't forget to order a matching piece for your doorways .
