Whether you work in the roofing or flooring industry or are just looking for an aid working in the garden or on home improvement projects, ProLock PLK04 (93181) Knee Pads will help protect your most important asset. Designed to be hard-wearing the heavy duty 1680D polyester fabric has been tested up to 7,000 abrasion cycles so you can feel confident knowing they can hold up against a wide range of surfaces ranging from construction site concrete and subflooring to at home hardwood and tile. The compression gel core is further padded with EVA foam to help to both absorb hard impacts and disperse bodyweight. When an extra layer of protection is desired additional caps can be attached using the built-in twist-to-lock anchors. I have used many different style pads in the past. These are probably the most comfortable I hav...I have used many different style pads in the past. These are probably the most comfortable I have had. It may be because they cost a little more than my other ones. The old saying "you get what you pay for" may apply here.
I wasn't real sure how the single Velcro strap below the knee would work but so far it has done good. They stay in place and do not want to rotate or slide up and down like others I have used. I can't really comment on how they will do long term. Concrete takes a toll on most I have had but my knees appreciate them so far.

After 23 years of wear & tear, our 12" wide x 1" thick Pine board flooring needed to be cleaned & repainted. I used these Prolock Gel safety knee pads to protect my 75 year old knees. One of the many things that impressed me about these knee pads was the flexible outer shell. Other knee pads, I have had, always had a hard outer shell. Pine is a soft wood & easily marred. The soft outer shell on these knee pads did not mar the floor. The Gel inner layer combined with the soft outer shell, form fit around my knees giving me an extremely comfortable feel & fit. I worked on my knees several hours, that first day & my knees did not hurt, when I stopped for the day, thanks to these knee pads. Besides being flexible, the outer shell has an extremely tough material, that will probably last a lifetime. These knee pads have a single strap design, made possible by a pair of truss straps, on each knee pad, that attach to the main leg strap. I easily adjusted the two truss straps to my calf size by simply drawing in the straps, through the two clips & securing them to the Velcro, on each strap. The primary strap, that secures the knee pad to the leg, uses a very effective Velcro connector. It made putting them on & taking them off very quick & simple. The leg strap even has a tab extension, making removal of the leg strap very easy, even with gloves on. These knee pads have connectors that will accommodate an optional, hard shell attachment. These are great knee savers & pain avoiders. This is a great product!

The non skid design really worked well as I had to work in my roof cavity, kneeling on the trusses. The gel made the task plesent. Also the knee pads have adjustable straps, that work to PROPERLY fit the pads to your knees. This helped keep the pads from moving around, and from having to re-adjusting them. Knee fatigue was greatly lessoned with this product. Bottom line is these pads work great.

I have bad knees. I've earned them. I used traditional knee pads that were very stiff with litt...I have bad knees. I've earned them. I used traditional knee pads that were very stiff with little padding. These are designed differently. My old ones had upper and lower straps that ended up pulling the pad out of place. These have one main strap and side straps. I thought it wouldn't work, but they stay in place better than the old pads. The gel is so much better than the foam which has been hardened over time. So far it looks like their strap design is a winner.

I hate to say that the Professional Black Gel Abrasion resistant safety Knee Pads are not comfort...I hate to say that the Professional Black Gel Abrasion resistant safety Knee Pads are not comfortable to wear. They are well constructed but they're a little tight on my legs even when I fit it only a quarter of the way on the tab. The straps that keep them in place are tight no matter the adjustment. They do work well, while on my knees, the cushioning is good.

First off, having had struggled with horrible knees my entire life, I'm picky about my knee pads....First off, having had struggled with horrible knees my entire life, I'm picky about my knee pads.
I was looking for a lighter-weight knee pad to use on indoor jobs that I could strap on and off in a hurry on-the-fly and I stumbled across these PROLOCK Gel Knee Pads. The single below-the-knee strap on these knee pads is what drew my attention and seemed rather comfortable not having a strap bunched up in the bend of my knee. Also, the unique placement of the strap left me hopeful that the knee pad wouldn't shift from side to side.
I received my knee pads quickly from Home Depot and had a chance to try them out last weekend. The design of these knee pads is one of the best designs I've honestly had the privilege of using. The outer material is of a very firm woven fabric material and now I understand what they mean by 'Abrasion Resistant', I'm going to have to do a lot to these knee pads to cause them harm. Fitting these were a dream, once strapped onto the leg, just tighten the vertical tension straps to secure the pad around your knee cap and you're good to go. If you're concerned about pad coverage across your knee, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm a bigger guy with swollen knees and I'm happy with them, see my picture for yourself. Side-to-side shifting of the knee pad has not been an issue, they stay in place where I need them to be.
As I said, the design is really great. These knee pads are actually a 'modular' platform and have a couple different accessories. The accessories provide the capability to convert these soft shelled knee pads into either a 'Hard Rocker Cap' or a 'Hard Non-Marring Cap' style of knee pad. I'm excited to try them out and see what else PROLOCK brand has to offer.
Highly Recommended.
