I don't know how I haven't come across those earlier at HD. In the course of the last three years I broke 3 knee-pads just doing work on my own crawlspace that has rough concrete base with pebbles sticking out. They would flex and eventually crack with the crack getting wider and wider.
those kneepads don't flex and are so sturdy. Padding is the perfect balance of thickness and softness so that working 4 hours on your knees is not uncomfortable, yet not squishy so that it will sag in the middle getting thinner and thinner as you use it.
Velcro at the bottom end makes it easy to take off and on, adjust it so it doesn't move around and yet it is padded thick and wide enough so that not to constrict your circulation when working for longer periods of time. The padding at the load bearing area has good weight distribution and its fabric provides good ventilation so you don't get sweaty knees after working.
Totally a must have item if you have a crawlspace or work kneeling on hard surfaces.

These kneepads are made well but are mostly for use on rough surfaces. The front plastic is hard ...These kneepads are made well but are mostly for use on rough surfaces. The front plastic is hard and thick allowing you protection from nails, hot pavement, or other very rough objects. However, the thick plastic sticks out and when you kneel on them it's somewhat like being in high heels (I actually never wore high heels but I'm guessing this is what it would be like). You tend to want to tip sideways and you have to keep your balance on them. The hard plastic also makes it a bit awkward on tile floors and makes a loud noise as you move. The inner padding is very well done, very comfortable, and the straps are well made. The bottom strap is a Velcro strap style that is wide and long so it's easy to put on, and holds well. The top strap is thinner and is hook over button style that is easy to snap on and off.
Truth is when I ordered them I didn't know they were the hard plastic style or I would have gotten the soft plastic style for tile setting and general construction.

I do a lot of outside repairs and projects that require me to rest upon my knees. I go through a...I do a lot of outside repairs and projects that require me to rest upon my knees. I go through a set of kneepads on a regular basis. The main issue is that the elastic banding stretches out or breaks.
This set of pads has good elastic bands, much better than other I have used. They appear that they will stand the test of time and use.
The hard pads are made of durable material and too will be put through a rigorous use.
These feel very comfortable when worn, and the elastic bands are not uncomfortable on the back of my legs.

I recently received these knee pads as I'm currently doing a lot of work close to the ground. I'v...I recently received these knee pads as I'm currently doing a lot of work close to the ground. I've never really worn pads before though I've done many jobs I probably should have and have often paid the price. Well I won't anymore.
These have adequate padding for a guy my weight and make kneeling jobs quite comfortable without the fear of kneeling on a nail or rock. The fronts have treads like tires and grip very well. There's 2 straps, one is Velcro and the other a hook and eye and are adjustable.
I do find after wearing them for a period of time, the straps become uncomfortable but that could be simply because I'm not used to wearing them. But it's a small price to pay for what seems to be a high quality knee pad at a good price. I'll be wearing them much more often than in the past.

Seldom do I go out on a limb and say that but these pads are the real deal. I spent the whole day yesterday on my knees painting the cement around the foundation of my home. My daughter did the upper part and I was down on the stones in our driveway. Or in the grass. I usually do something like that with a gardening pad. But theses knee pads where so much better. Check out my pictures. Except for a little dirt the pads look brand new. And the gel kept my old knees from hurting at all. I can’t say that about my back but my knees were great. They have a hard shell that fully perfects your knees. And the strap is very easy to remove. And it wraps around very comfortably. I did have to adjust them a couple of times but all in all I am very satisfied.

These knee pads fasten around your shin and knee with two elastic straps. The top strap is adjust...These knee pads fasten around your shin and knee with two elastic straps. The top strap is adjustable in length and hooks onto a small knob on the opposite side of the knee pad after going around your leg at the hinge of your knee. The bottom strap goes around the upper part of your lower leg and fastens with Velcro. This makes for a snug and comfortable fit. The padding in the center is gel-like, and the outer inch-and-a-half of padding is a stiffer foam, so that the part of your knee that gets your weight on it also gets the softer padding. The pads while on are OK to walk with -- they are not uncomfortable. When you kneel on a hard floor your knees are are cushioned and do not feel the cold of concrete or tile. On a gravel driveway as in the photo, when I'm inflating a bicycle or automobile tire, they are much more comfortable than kneeling directly on the gravel. These pads can slide on a tile floor. If you were to kneel without these pads onto a loose nail or screw, or a piece of glass or metal, you could cut or injure your knee. For working any length of time while kneeling on a hard surface, these pads will protect your knees from pain and injury. These pads are a good investment in comfort and safety.

Needless to say, I paid the price with now bad knees. I have at least four other pairs of kneepads, some I use regularly others hardly at all.
The main issue is the design. Many kneepads do not stay on your knees and slide around or down and constant readjusting is a pain. Also, with comfort a priority I found the Gelite kneepads stay put and only occasionally need to be readjusted which is not a big deal. The Gel padding and the design of the straps make them pretty comfortable and with the hard shell offer much needed protection.

This is my first shot with Tommyco knee pads. I’ve used many other brands in the past, some good...This is my first shot with Tommyco knee pads. I’ve used many other brands in the past, some good, some not so good. So far, these are excellent. They don’t slide down or move side to side. They are lightweight and pretty comfortable. I mean, you can tell they are there, but I don’t get the pinching or strap binding near the back of my knee. I’ve even used them while wearing shorts! The pad is cupped well so it prevents the dreaded “rollover”. I use them when I tile floors so they can get pretty grubby however they clean up well. Comfortable and gives plenty of knee protection without having to adjust them every time you kneel. Great set of knee pads.
