It's primary function is to catch the brunt of the traffic while enhancing the beauty of a stair case or step. Fast-track comes with molding but is not required for installation. This trim can be cleaned with a damp cloth or soft brush.

The finishing touch!
What was lacking in the quarter round of the matching trim pieces was made up by this stair nose piece. As a major do-it-myselfer, the one thing that was lacking was instructions! The long length also comes with a plastic channel piece with holes in it,which I assume you slide over the section of bare wood ( on the underside) that is the same width? Well, that's what I did and then used the holes to predrill down and anchor the piece in place. It looks great and it matches perfectly with the flooring. It was quite expensive for one length, but finishes the entire room nicely.
