Very thick, strong tape
I used this Gorilla tape for a recent small move and really appreciated how thick, strong, adhesive and wide it is. I didn't use anywhere near as much tape on the boxes I sealed as other people using the traditional packing tape which is much narrower and not as strong. The dispenser is very easy to use and is much less weight to hold than a big tape gun type dispenser. I like the roller feature which smooths the tape down on the box as you tape. The teeth are extremely sharp and cut the tape easily and consistently every time.
I was disappointed that after a cut the tape does not stay stuck to the dispenser cutting teeth. As a result, I had to grasp the tape with my hand and place it on the box before taping again. Also when not in use, the tape is just hanging unattached to the teeth. The quality and durability of the tape and the dispenser are excellent, but would like to see improvement for the problem of the tape not sticking to the teeth cutter.

Best shipping tapeThis is excellent packing/shipping tape. It is definitely more heavy duty and not the thin stuff. It is super adhesive. The width is nice so that you don't need multiple strips to get good coverage/seal. The dispenser is so-so and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. It works fine for applying the tape and cutting it off one-handed. However, the cutter is very close to the roller, so as soon as you cut, the tape rolls back a bit such that not enough is sticking out to just push it down and apply another strip. If you are doing a lot of packaging, this dispenser will not save you time and effort.
Buy this for the tape, not the dispenser.

Thick & Wide Tape - Great!At first glance you would think this is just packing tape. But it is way better than that! It is slightly thicker, meaning you can line the edges of boxes and know for sure that nothing will leak out or break or tear out of a box. It is also a good inch or two wider than most packing tapes. Plus, it has a pretty good stick to it. The roller is easy to work with too. A nice wide roll makes it so much easier to work with for this pair of hands. So instead of double taping everything, just one line of this product and you are done. This saves time and money in my opinion. I would get this again.

Heavy duty tapeThe tape itself is pretty heavy duty. If normal packing tape isn't working for you then try this stuff. One problem I have with the tape is that permanent marker does not write as well on here as it does on regular packaging tape. You can rub it off with your finger & a little elbow grease.
The best part of this is the dispenser. It stands upright, has a sharp blade, & has a roller in front of the blade to ease in dispensing. Whoever designed this dispenser needs a raise! Talk about building a better tape dispenser! The other downside is that it is not made here in the good ole US of A.

Well designed tape and dispenserI like the wider tape of the Gorilla shipping tape but I love the dispenser. It has a back roller that aides in pressing down the tape as it is applied. Grant it, this won't work very well on packages that are soft or box flaps that would sink as you press down, but Gorilla did a great job of at least making the dispenser.
The wide tape does simplify the taping process. One strip would be enough for most boxes. The tape itself is a bit heftier than standard packaging tape - however, the tape will still "run" (striping) if pierced. This is expected since packing tape is not reinforced which would stop the run. For this reason it is still necessary to cross tape on heavy packages.
The adhesion is great - removing the tape generally pulls of the package material. Unlike some packing tapes that just simply release.

Great wide tapeThe gorilla tape is wide, almost three inches wide, sticky, and easy to roll out and apply. The Gorilla tape dispenser rolls out smoothly. With its wide width, you can tape on labels with one strip and seal packages with fewer tape strips. This wide tape is tear resistant and perfect for taping boxes in one swipe rather than with two or three swipes. Consequently, you use fewer feet of tape than with other brands and tape a box faster. The dispenser is well made with a cutting blade with more teeth as other dispensers. A smooth well designed roller bar underneath the blade presses down on the tape for a clean full length adhesive. The tape is more flexible than other brands. It feels almost like a sheet of thin plastic, which gives it that smooth but tear resistant property and with a strong bond.

Strong and easy to dispenseThis tape is thick, stiff and tacky enough to hold. It is true that one pass should be enough to hold a box closed well.
The dispenser is easy to use and refill, however the tape does not stay in the teeth after you cut a section off, so you must unroll and place the tape edge with your hands for the next dispensing.
The dispenser is easy to empty and refill by simply stretching it open, but it only works with tapes that have a 1 ½” diameter tube/opening. I have some heavy duty shipping tape that cannot fit into this dispenser because it has the more standard 3” opening. So you are limited to what tapes you can refill with- Gorilla, some Scotch and a few others that are more rare and expensive than the common 3” tube type.
