Light Effects by Artscape, creates the visual effect and sparkle of textured glass. Light effects window films refract light producing a three-dimensional quality. These thin, translucent films provide privacy while still allowing natural light to enter the room. Artscape films are easily applied to any smooth glass surface. They do not use adhesives and are easily removed if needed. They can be trimmed or combined to fit any size window. The images have a repeating pattern left to right and top to bottom and can be used either vertically or horizontally. These films provide UV protection and are the perfect decorative accent for windows that require continued privacy. Blue Chip Glass window film is clear without color.

We used this product on our basement windows to give us privacy, yet still allow natural outside light. Installation wasn't too difficult; the hardest part for me was the measurement and cutting (with a box cutter) to get the right fit. After that, the installation went quickly.

I like the look of this product and it gives me privacy while allowing the light to shine in and ...I like the look of this product and it gives me privacy while allowing the light to shine in and adds a nice touch to my bathroom and kitchen windows. Although I would recommend it, one thing that I was extremely surprised about thought, was the lack of a cutting grid on the back. Even gift wrap paper comes with this making it easier to cut in a straight line. I believe wall paper does too. As an older adult who lives alone and has never been able to cut straight, I found this frustrating. I cannot understand why Artscape would not provide a cutting grid in the back. Sure there may be oval or round windows too, but I am assuming most windows will need straight lines. This is too expensive to throw away because you did not cut properly. And it is something that could easily be done on your own, if Artscape would put a cutting grid on the back. As it is now, I have been reluctant to buy more only because of this. I finally had a nephew help me out because I could not do it on my own without a lot of waste. The product on my bathroom window has been there a good two years. Considering it is right next to the shower and gets a lot of steam, I am amazed it looks just as good as when it was put on. I am trying to put the kitchen ones on right now and had to stop to write this review, hoping Artscape and Homedepot will take note.

Does it block the view of my neighbor's tool shed...Does it block the view of my neighbor's tool shed from my living room? Yes. Does it allow filtered light into the room? Yes. My window is about 43"x19.5" so I had to do some trim work and cut & piece. Even though I used a neutral pattern to minimize this, I see it everytime I look at that window. It probably would have looked better if I cut the whole thing up and pieced it to the window--kind of like a puzzle I'd assembled onto the window and I might take it down and redo it that way. Better than John's tool shed. That was the ultimate goal and the objective was achieved.

I got this to put on bathroom door windows. I put it on the outside of the windows thinking that ...I got this to put on bathroom door windows. I put it on the outside of the windows thinking that then the moisture from the bathroom wouldn't affect it. What I didn't know was that with it on the outside of the windows you couldn't see out but you could see in to the bathroom. It wasn't that easy to put up because you were supposed to leave a fractional border between the film and the window frame. So, it took far longer than I expected to put it up and now I have bought another roll to put on the inside of the bathroom. Hopefully that will give more privacy inside the bathroom. Whether I would recommend it or not would depend upon what it's to be used for.
