I have a grouted window and need to remove the grout. It is amazingly resistant to a sharpened putty knife. So I decided to try this poduct. The sprayer pump was faulty - 3 or 4 squeezes would produce a couple of blobs of the gel. It would not spray 'a spray', only shoot blobs. It didn't have any effect on the caulk, not even the remnants that remained from where I had scraped/pulled most of the caulk off. However, any paint on the window sill that was touched by the gel peeled right off! So now I have spots of caulk and bare aluminum on the spots that I tried it on, and I still need to remove the caulk, and repaint the sill. There is no warning (that I see) on the label concerning paint damage, although as an after thought, it might be expected. The additional instructions when the label is peeled back are also very hard to read.
This stuff may work on certain types of caulk, but not on the stuff on my windows. Test it very carefully if you want to give it a try.

Was going to use it to try to help get white silicone bath caulk out as the caulk curdled because I did not realize cannot smooth with finger and very tricky to apply. But did not want to have my fiberglass shower pan ruined from the caulk remover. Costly, anyway. Had to remove caulk with razor blade, hair dryer heat, and used isoprophyl alcohol to help get silicone residue off glass block. Mineral spirits also used, but the white bath silicone caulk needed a lot more effort than just that. Don't know if the caulk remover would work well or not, but there were so many surfaces that the tiny print said it would damage, I'm returning it regardless. Cost a bit, too.

Forget about using this as a sprayOpen the bottle and transfer the product to a glass jar for actual use with a small hobby paintbrush. The product is thick and about as soupy as the old mucilage we used to use in kindergarten -- there's no chance of applying it with a spray bottle. I cannot for the life of me imagine how it ended up in this packaging.
I apparently put this through about the hardest test possible by using it on a thick, sloppy bead of GE Silicone II 100% Silicone that had been cured for two weeks. I used it on an aluminum-framed shower door caulked to granite tile. The product got the job done, barely. The 2-3 minutes recommended became 10-15 minutes. It did not do any harm to the finish on the aluminum door frame. It did not discolor the granite. The caulk came off in pieces, with difficulty. I used a metal scraper and a razor blade for most of the job. I suspect I'll never several applications and at least two hours of work that includes brushing with an extra-stiff grout brush to get it all off.
I'm still giving it four stars. It got the job done on the toughest bathroom caulk you can buy and saved my bacon.

The bottle would not squirt. I spent a totally frustrating day scrapping and pulling out caulk....The bottle would not squirt.
I spent a totally frustrating day scrapping and pulling out caulk. It was a HORRIBLE job. The product was recommended by someone at Home Depot. However, if it will not come out of the bottle, what good is it.

A store employee recommended this product to assist me in...A store employee recommended this product to assist me in removing old thinset from the back of several old tiles which had loosened from their previously installed location, in order to appIy new thinset, to re-attach the tiles.
