I used it as a primer for a swing set and it worked very well. It dried fast and clean up was easy. I would get this product again. Since I am using it on a galvanized pipe, I needed a product that would work with that type of surface. So far, it is working very well.

I been using this product successfully for years on several aluminum bot trailers that I have reb...I been using this product successfully for years on several aluminum bot trailers that I have rebuilt including two of my own. I have not any any issues what so ever but then again I do extensive prep work ie: I sand blast all corrosion , fill divots with waterproof bondo, sand project overall and then apply primer as per directions. I wait several hours before applying second coat then wait 24 hours to apply top coat and I do not thin either. I was once told that preparation was 90% of the job ;-) These trailers see salt water year round down here in Florida and this product is what I will continue to use.

Not useful for aluminumI cleaned and prepped the surface and applied as per the directions. However when removing the tape from around the area that I primed, it came off with the tape. Also, I was able to peel it off by hand.

I had high hopes for this product. I know that painting aluminum can be a challenge, so I cleaned...I had high hopes for this product. I know that painting aluminum can be a challenge, so I cleaned the aluminum surface (which were stair treads), chose a primer from a well-respected company (Rust-Oleum), even lightly sanded the surface to provide better adhesion. Then I spent many, many hours applying this product, waited a few days and applied a surface paint (also Rust-Oleum). Everything seemed fine for a couple months, then slowly started to flake off. This was not a problem with the paint, since the flaking was down to bare metal (see photo). And this is not a problem with the traffic on the treads, since it is flaking off in areas that do not receive any traffic.
Very disappointing. I thought that I chose a good product and took a lot of time and extra steps to make sure that this was done right. Don’t make the same mistake that I did. Avoid this primer.
