1 HP Bridge Wet Tile Saw - Product information

The QEP 24 in. Bridge Saw is a great value for the occasional installer or DIY'er. It comes with an 8 in. continuous rim diamond blade for cutting ceramic tile, slate, marble and granite. This saw will also cut porcelain tiles if a porcelain rated blade (not included) is used. The UL approved, direct-drive, 1 HP, 120-Volt, brushless motor is powerful enough for quick and repeat cuts, with automatic thermal overload protection to prevent overheating. The six ball-bearing cutting assembly allows the motor to glide smoothly with minimal vibration for precise cuts. The completely enclosed dual water spray system evenly distributes water flow, extending the life of the diamond blade. Includes a fold out stand with wheel attachments for easy mobility and storage.

This tile saw is so cumbersome to load in and out of our trailer. It has NEVER cut square. 'We called the company as soon as we purchased it and they could not explain how to fix the problem. The reason we purchased it is because tiles are getting larger and we needed a saw that allowed us to cut bigger tiles. We are professional tile installers--- not novices so don't waste your money on this product. My son (also a professional installer) helped me on a job and he hated this saw.

QEP Bridge Wet Saw
The saw work fair for the new long tiles like 6" x 24" & 12 x 24", but my biggest problem is that the saw does not run true with the guides even with hours if adjustments. It seems that the bridge is slightly squed and the blade is just offset enough to bind the blade and not make a true square cut. I have even used a speed square and clamps to try and get a true cut but it will still cut from one side of a pencil line to the other resulting in one side always longer than the other. For exposed cuts, it just didn't cut square. The little plastic clamp at the back holding the cord broke, & causes the ribbed cover to hang up. If you are cutting inside , to minimize water overspray , put down 4 or 6 mil plastic. With some minor mfg improvements , like good adjustment points, better pump, ease of tray removal, & maybe a single slotted top ( for 1x1or 2x2tiles) it would be a much better saw. I would rate it a 3 mainly because of the capacity to cut long and larger tiles. Overall it's a decent quality saw that needs improvements.

The right tool for the project
Bought it to cut 18" travertine tiles for tiling a large kitchen (340 SF). Smaller saws can't physically handle such large tiles and are not powerful enough. There are more powerful saws, but again, not all of those can easily accommodate large tiles.
This saw cut so consistently that I decided to cut 50% of the tiles in half and do a nice pattern. I was pleased with its cutting performance.
It cuts smoothly. The motor is powerful and the stock blade cut nicely for about 200 cuts. When it gets dull, the cut is not quite as smooth. Also, although it is powerful and cuts fairly fast, it is best to cut slowly for best results.
This unit is big and very heavy, so it is very difficult for one person to move it. The wheels worked well on my unit, so I could move it around.
I fussed a long time with the laser, but it is very unlikely to get it lined up exactly right for it to be of any use. Just tightening its screw causes it to go out of exact alignment! I didn't use it, and I doubt anyone else can, either.
This thing drips a lot of water, so using it inside will require tubs, trays, or buckets underneath to catch the water. If you take the time to caulk some weld joints underneath, it won't drip as much.
Keep the water tray full and the pump does well and the saw performs nicely.
I am not sure if this thing will keep up for very heavy commercial use day in and day out, but it was the right tool for this project.

Disappointment
I bought this saw because I am cutting 24" porcelain tiles for a countertop and want a very clean, chip-free cut. I have only tested it on a few ceramic tiles and it is not bad. But the construction of the unit reminds me of the kind of international products that we were seeing 20 years ago, before things improved. The wheel kit was badly bent, and after I straightened one of the brackets and installed both wheels, I discovered that hand tightening bent the metal again, so that the wheels do not run straight, and barely stay on. I will have to drill and bolt them through the legs. The strange leveling mechanism certainly doesn't work on my unit (not sure how it could, looking at the design), so I just wedge under that foot to stop the whole thing from rocking. Nothing was set up square, and only some adjustments are available. Others are a 'loosen the screws, tap and tighten' that require a lot of fiddling and may not stay true for long. A plastic clip that holds the water hose out of the way was simply attached, but the hose was not threaded through it, and the only way to do that would be to disassemble a lot of hose and electrical wiring, so I'm taping the hose out of the way. At first the motor sounded like the bearings were shot, but it has started to sound a little better, though I don't know why. I hope it lasts through my project. I should have returned the whole, but I had to destroy the cardboard box to get it out of there. Renting would have cost as much as I paid for this thing, so I'll just hope for the best.

Great value for the money
The first one I received was damaged in transit, but was replaced within a week. Had trouble setting up the laser system. Not very accurate, but was useful. Had trouble with first cut as I had no water pumping. Was ready to call the company when I thought of taking apart the housing under the deck and found that the pump was not plugged in. I think they should have mentioned that it was unplugged. The saw worked well and cut accurately. It sure saved a lot of time over using my old $80 toy. I am very happy with it and felt it was a very good purchase.

small tiles are very hard to cut
not good for small tiles. can be scary. may work better for large tile. area for blade to run is to wide for small tiles. also hard to hold small tiles and also pull the blade forward.

The saw cuts straight. The only problem I had was with the water supply line. It caught the edge of the table with each cut and caused me to break the first few tiles that I was cutting. After I figured out what was holding up, I snipped the metal
Band that held the hose up with zip tape.

Picked up a used one
Picked up a heavily used one and made hundreds of cuts! Worked better than I ever expected. I'd pay full price for a new one all day. Only thing with this saw is you can't cut bricks or thick material like cinder blocks.
But to all those reviews saying you can't cut small tile you guys just don't know what you're doing because this thing worked flawlessly with extra small glass mosaic tile and subway tile.
